Jay P. Glover, M.D.
Dr. Glover was born and raised in Little Rock, Arkansas. He graduated from the University of Arkansas in Fayetteville on a full academic scholarship before completing medical school at the University of Arkansas for Medical Sciences.
He completed his ophthalmology residency at the University of Alabama at Birmingham/Callahan Eye Hospital, one of only two level-1 ocular trauma centers in the US with a 24/7 eye emergency department. He was elected as co-chief resident by his peers, receiving the Golden Apple Award as outstanding resident instructor. He subsequently completed a two-year medical and surgical retina fellowship at the University of Alabama/Retina Specialists of Alabama/Hellen Keller Research combined program, one of the busiest, highest volume surgical retina fellowships in the nation, enabling him to provide the most compassionate and technologically advanced vitreoretinal care to his patients.
After completing fellowship in 2017, Dr. Glover and his growing young family moved to Nashville with his wife, a native Nashvillian, to join Retina Consultants of Nashville (now jointly Tennessee Retina). Outside of work, Dr. Glover can primarily be found attending his three young children's many events. He is an avid sports enthusiast, outdoorsman, and enjoys playing various sports including golf and tennis. He loves spending time with family whether at the lake, river, Titans or Predators games and continues to cheer for his Razorbacks.
